Which Is The Best Pub In Old Street?

Part ‘O of our two year mission to visit the best London pubs, alphabetically.

There really was only one choice for part O. Osterley is too far out. Old Kent Road is not known for good pubs. Oval was covered in our Kennington pub crawl. Which leaves Old Street, centre of London's tech industry, street art scene and increasingly worthy coffee houses.

But where are the best pubs and bars? As ever, the definition of the area is up to you, but we're looking for places within short walking distance of Old Street tube.

Here’s how to play:

  1. Let us know (in the comments below, on Facebook, or by tweeting #bestOldStreetPub) your favourite pubs in the area.
  2. We’ll tally up the votes in a couple of days.
  3. We’ll then arrange a pub crawl around the four most popular choices. You’re welcome to join us.
  4. As mentioned above, the definition of what counts as Old Street is up to you. Feel free to nominate places in Shoreditch, Hoxton or the City fringes if you feel they deserve to be on a local pub crawl.
  5. By ‘pubs’, we’re using a shorthand — you can also vote for bars.
  6. You can nominate more than one place. All nominations count as one vote, whether you rank them or not. Likes on Facebook and retweets of someone else’s vote are also counted as new votes.
  7. Venues should be open to the public with no pre-booking, entry fee or membership required.

So, where shall we go?
