Which Is The Best Pub In Limehouse And Wapping: The Results

Part ‘L’ of our alphabetical pub crawl around London.

We asked you to nominate your favourite pubs and bars in the Limehouse/Wapping area (the boundaries were left up to the voter). 201 votes were cast. Here is the top 10 (see below for the four we’re doing on the pub crawl).

1. The Grapes (64 votes)
2. Town of Ramsgate (25 votes)
3. The Prospect of Whitby (24 votes)
4. The Captain Kidd (20 votes)
5. 5b Urban Bar (18 votes)
6. Wilton's Music Hall bar (15 votes)
7. The Narrow (11 votes)
8. The Dickens Inn (7 votes)
=9.  The George Tavern (3 votes)
=9. Turners Old Star (3 votes)

The map below shows where the votes went. Green dotted markers show the top four pubs, which will form our pub crawl. The rest of the top 10 are shown in yellow, while all other nominations are in red. (Note: a red pub doesn’t mean it’s a bad pub…in each case, at least one person thought this was the best, and some might be little-known or on the fringes of the area.)

Our pubcrawl round the top four will take place on Monday 25 March 2013 (we always pick a Monday to ensure the pubs can handle a crowd). Here’s where we’ll go (approx 1.5 miles)…

6.30pm The Town of Ramsgate
7.30pm The Captain Kidd
8.30pm The Prospect of Whitby
9.30pm The Grapes
