January
After many years without any new skyscrapers named after food items, the City of London unveils plans for 'The Avocado'. It joins the Gherkin, Can of Ham and Cheesegrater buildings in the Square Mile cluster.
February
Alexandra Palace begins its rooftop tours, in what's billed as the most daring roof climb in London. All Souls Langham Place says "hold my pint".
March
After the successful launch of V&A East and Sadler's Wells East other institutions look to expand across the compass points. Thames Barrier North, thrown across the Dollis Brook in Barnet, is less than successful.
April
In Fitzrovia, cyclists complain after key infrastructure is closed by a surfeit of Lime bikes.
May
British Transport Police investigating the marked rise in Tube graffiti announce a breakthrough, as they determine the identity of a culprit named 'Euler'.
June
As the cost-of-living crisis deepens, even royal guards are forced to take second jobs, to make ends meet.
July
Westminster Council unveils its controversial new approach to welcoming tourists to London.
August
Fears that global warming is speeding up, as crocodile spotted in Limehouse Basin.

Climate change is also bringing a rise in sea levels. Realising that it cannot afford to beef up the embankments, the City of London promotes a new 'Ninja Warrior'-style solution for river-side pedestrians wishing to avoid wet feet.
October
Ursines Assemble: As the first trailer for Paddington 4 drops, other fictional bears forge an alliance to counter his monopoly. Winnie the Pooh sends his apologies.
November
As work begins to pedestrianise Oxford Street, Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan announces his next project: the complete pedestrianisation of the M25.
December
The cable car reveals its winter promotion. Four carriages are to be decked out with the design from the world's first Christmas card, which shows Henry Cole's family enjoying a festive meal in what looks like a cable-car carriage. It will be known as the Jingle jangle Dangleway.
