The Charles Dickens is good local pub, in Union Street. Boot & Flogger too, in Redcross Way, is a fun and interesting wine pub.

Love London

The Wheat sheaf Bought Market is a Great Pub with great real ale the London Gold is always on form

The Old King's Head, King's Head Yard. A working class, no nonsense boozer, away from the traffic and tourists, and a pint of decent lager for less than £3 during extensive happy hours. It's become a bit of a 'Thursday is the new Friday' tradition for me and a few friends. Most people would turn their gastro nose up at it- but that's just the way we like it.

Also Katzenjammers, 24 Southwark Street. German beer hall rather than a pub though?

Rake. Enough said. Best in class. Even if it is tiny.
