Genuinely one of the most heartwarming things we've done over the festive period in London is attend a Muppet Christmas Carol singalong at the Prince Charles Cinema.
The 1992 musical — starring Michael Caine and an array of felt shapes imbued with Dickensian charm — is, for many, the greatest adaptation of the festive novella.
Renowned for its flurry (or should that be blizzard?) of festive films this time of year, the Prince Charles always features in our roundup of yuletide movie screenings, but in 2025 the cinema is showing The Muppet Christmas Carol every day in December up until Christmas Eve — and a few days at the tail end of November too.
On some days, the screenings run at multiple times, meaning you have 48 chances to watch the film (that's up seven screenings on 2024). As Tiny Tim sings: "Every day's a gift!"
FYI, some screenings are singalongs, others not (although, come on, people are going to be singing along whatever).
There are other places to catch the film this holiday season, including a performance with a live orchestra at the Apollo in Hammersmith (23 November). Meanwhile, our very own editor-at-large Matt Brown co-hosts a screening inside the shaft of the Thames Tunnel on 17 December. To all screenings of this fuzzy-feelingest of festive films, we say: god bless, them every one!
