Alternative Fashion Week 2012: Day One
Alternative Fashion Week Riotous imaginations set the tone from day one.
Andrew Logan – Sculptor, jewellery-maker and performance artist is the quintessential eccentric English artist. Based in London, he has been exhibiting his works, a blend of camp pop-art and neo-romanticism, since the early 70’s. These fantastical, bold creations can be found in far flung corners of the globe
We dropped by the Custom House records launch party the other night with just enough time to catch the first band, which, luckily for us was Rebecca Closure. When we saw her a few years ago, her stage antics and imaginative approach to performance and songwriting kept a bemused smile on our face for weeks.
As artist, jeweller and sculpter, Andrew Logan was amongst the very first to transform recycled materials into works of art. Rejoice focuses on his sculptures; where mythical beasts and huge glass mosaic portraits glitter and shine, drawing you into worlds within worlds at every angle.
