Preview: Alternative Fashion Week @ Spitalfields Traders Market

We can barely contain our excitement – Alternative Fashion Week (AFW) is almost here!

Transforming Spitalfields Traders Market into the most dynamic event on London’s fashion calendar, AFW is a truly accessible fashion fest – showcasing the talents of an exceptionally diverse range of emerging designers, from UK, Europe and beyond, and a bevy of home grown models hot off AFW‘s model training course.

Free to members of the public, this unique fashion extravaganza emphasises environmental awareness, ethical sourcing and recycled textiles – making for a vibrant celebration of innovative and edgy ideas with a conscience. The exotic range of clothes, textiles and accessories available at the accompanying fashion market is an opportunity to pick up your designer-wear for the rest of the year and live music from The Mannequins completes this sensory occasion.

Held annually since 1993, with 15 shows each day, AFW is highly regarded as an important stepping stone between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.

Watch out for our daily posts next week.

Alternative Fashion Week runs 16-21 April. Catwalk shows start at 1.15pm daily and is FREE. Fashion  market 11am-5pm daily @ Spitalfields Traders Market, Crispin Place, Brushfield St, London E1 6AA (Liverpool St Station)
