If you love indie guitar music, but are bored to horrible tears with the current bunch of Strokes and Arctic Monkeys clones, then listen up. Or, more to the point, click here and get tickets for this gig before they sell out. The tiny Cross Kings venue is hosting the fourth Club Rockfeedback night on Friday 13th June, and the line-up is once again superb. First on the bill are Domino’s new signing Wild......

Give us the means to see an absurd number of bands in one night and Londonist is there. This Thursday, Stag and Dagger is taking over the East End in what has lovingly been dubbed "Shoreditch Crawl". In the tradition of other London neighbourhood-based music fests, Stag and Dagger will have roughly 100 bands playing at 15 venues around Shoreditch (except for the Slaughtered Lamb, which is comparatively remote, though is probably the least......

This week, we offered you the chance to go and see rising star Jack Savoretti on April 1st, enjoyed a triple bill of metal, mayhem and melee, and previewed El Guincho's looped tropical rhythms which are coming to the capital this week. Looking ahead to this week, Easter Monday offers the tantalising line up of R.E.M., Foals, The Duke Spirit and Robyn Hitchcock all at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the ICA's 60th birthday.......

A changeable week around the capital, as we caught up with the marvellous Black Cab sessions, saw Laura Marling live at Union Chapel on Tuesday, got excited about Radiohead playing the Beeb, had a quick chat with quickly rising stars Clocks, finally conceded that not even Ken can save the Astoria, and realised that Damon Albarn may have his fingers in too many pies. Meanwhile, looking ahead to this week things are rather quiet as......

The first full week back at work, and with that we start to get a few decent gigs happening. The Spice Girls continue their record-breaking run of nights at the O2 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Tickets are still available from See Tickets and Ticketmaster for all three nights, and for the rest of their shows this month in London. If you like your music a lot heavier than some camp pop, then you might......

It's summer! Shouldn't you be outside enjoying the sunshine? That is, assuming we actually get any. If you don't fancy making the most of the weather, here are a few choices for a night in. On TV, Londonist likes: Tuesday, 21 August Secret Life of the Motorway (BBC4, 21:00-22:00) What screams "summer holidays" more than being stuck on the motorway on your way to or from somewhere fabulous? You'll be sure to love this......

Part 1: Introduction Mods. Rockers. Teds. Punks. Ravers. Swingers. Skinheads. Suedeheads. Hippies. Yuppies. Rudeboys. Indie kids. Emo kids. Beats. Glam kids. Tribes. Subcultures. Neo-tribes. Groups. Bands. Movements. All of the above, and more, have - despite their points of origin - been magnetically attracted to the capital. To attempt to cover all of the ages of London’s youth might seem an exhausting task worthy of Peter Ackroyd who wrote of his biography of London......

As the fair weather of Spring tentatively approaches, any attempt by the pretty blue sky and sunshine to wean us all off our incessant computer based social networking by dragging us outside is made more difficult by the advent of Trig.com. Based in Sweden, it's designed to be a "new social networking site for an urban and sophisticated web community of dynamic, inspired and creative individuals, who are primarily fuelled by their own dreams,......

A not particularly well-known indie band is due to headline NME.com's 10th anniversary bash at Koko next month. Ben Perreau, editor of NME.com, said: "NME.com's landmark tenth anniversary deserves to be celebrated in style -- and what better way than to have the cream of today's storming indie bands in the form of Kasabian showing the new bloods how it's done." Kasabian? Storming indie band? "Showing the new bloods how it's done"? For a......

Last week we introduced you to Leeds' glamourous Dead Disco. This week marks the release of their twisted debut single, The Treatment, and of course their very first gig in London at Club Motherfucker at The Garage in Highbury. Playing alongside the band will be upandcoming Glaswegian band Bricolage who, we hear, are worth going to see themselves! Not only that but Bis remnants, Data Panik, will be hotfooting it from their own gig......

One of the many odd pleasures that Britpop threw up was the 12 piece pop orchestra, My Life Story. Six years after Jake Shillingford called it a day he has reassembled all 12 original members for a one off show at The Mean Fiddler on Friday 26th May, to coincide with the release of the band's forthcoming best of: Sex & Violins (with a memory jogging six number one singles). A damn fine live......

End of a Tuesday is almost mid week, and since there's been a flurry of activity within the Londonist Music inbox, always a sure sign that the music world is shaking off it's fluffy winter feathers and gearing up for another year of doing damage to our collective eardrums, we thought it was time to catch up with a few friends hanging around various stages over the next few days. It's a little late......

We love new bands down here in the Londonist Music dungeon, so far this year we've brought you The Sways, The Delta Blues, Eighteenth Day Of May, and Kaibosh, amongst others and there'll be plenty more to come. But no one loves new bands quite as much those lovely folks at Plum Promotions do. For the last five years Plum Promotions have devoted themselves to booking the finest new and upcoming bands. Firstly at......

Did you know it's London Sustainability Weeks? (The unexpected plural because it lasts two weeks.) Well, Londonist did and, ever game for some worthy fun, we went along to the opening event on Sunday in Greenwich Park. The London Green Lifestyle Show stretched right across the royal park, with a sea of tents and attractions somewhat akin to a bourgeoisie Glastonbury. Indeed, several chunks of park were devoted to music. Bands with Googlewhack names......
