The week's most popular posts, and a round-up of what's happening around town.

In the news (a slow news week, election aside):

  • At least the weekend weather's good if your holiday flight has been buggered by volcanic ash
  • The Heron Tower topped out, Tower 42 went up for sale and Skylon plans were scuppered
  • The East London Line didn't open sneakily early as we'd hoped it would
  • The Illustrated London News went digital
  • See the News category for more

    Other good stuff:

  • Have a look for London's lost grottos
  • Look at Brixton, all arboreally beautiful
  • Hair hit the West End,
  • Keep 'em peeled for Pavement 'hobo code'
  • It's brilliant weather for walking the London Loop Go and check out River Sounding at Somerset House
  • Have you listened to The Rant and Dick show yet?
  • See the Arts & Events and Food & Drink categories for more

    Comment of the week:

Having read the latest London Dossier post, reader Alison tells us:

I read this and thought "hmm; I'm sure Tubby Isaacs still has a stall on Walthamstow market — I buy fish there sometimes". And indeed, http://www.tubbyisaacs.co.uk tells me that they have two stalls now; one at Walthamstow and one on Portobello Road. Maybe you should do a story on them, given that they've been selling eels for 90 years?

    Maybe we should. Thanks Alison!
