On Beihing-Bound? Let The Train Take The Strain
Why wait? It may take longer, but you can take the train to Beijing right now! In 2005 I took the train from Paris to Hong Kong (via Beijing). Total time was 16 days, though if I had gone straight through without stops it would have been 11 days. From London to Beijing would be 10 days right now. Check out the Man in Seat 61 for a good overview.
