Every day until Christmas we will be pointing you in the direction of a London-inspired Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won’t already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we’ll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings…
We spotted Bronagh Kennedy’s bold prints of London landmarks and skylines at a pop-up shop during London Design Week and were instantly drawn to the detailed architectural images set against bright colours. Isolated from their normal backdrop the familiar London buildings appear more distinct and, depending on the background chosen, a shade more dramatic, melancholy, beautiful or striking.
Perfect for the person with a soft spot for a particular structure is the London Landmark series, starring BT Tower, the National Theatre, the Gherkin (get it in yellow, like it’s dipping in mustard), The Elizabeth Tower*, St Paul’s and more for £55 each.
For those more generally fond of the city skyline are views of City Hall and the Shard, Tate Modern and Millennium Bridge, a City cluster and the Houses of Parliament at £85 each.
So, not cheap, but the images are high quality, limited edition prints of 50 or 100 and come numbered and signed by the artist. Purchase by Monday 17 December to meet the Christmas deadline.
