Update: this strike has been suspended.
Last week there was a 48 hour tube strike, and from 9pm tonight (Monday 5 May) there is a 72 hour strike scheduled by the RMT.
As with the other recent strikes, this one's over ticket office closures and job losses. London Underground and the RMT will carry on talking today to try and get the strike called off — but the way things were left on Friday (the RMT says LU offered to suspend implementation of the cuts in return for three weeks of talks, but wanted the union to call off its entire dispute over job losses, salary reductions and ticket office closures) unless there's been significant movement by either side, we can't see the talks being productive. If you want to use the tube while the strike is on, London Underground will try and run the service detailed below between 7am and 11pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Around 50% of services ran during last week's strike; as ever, check before you travel to see what's running and if stations are open as planned. Expect other modes of transport to be busy as well (cycle hire docking stations in central London filled up very quickly during morning rush hour last week). Also keep an eye on the Station Master app's blog, as they usually provide a map that shows what's running and frequencies.
Bakerloo: trains will run approx every six minutes between Queen’s Park and Elephant and Castle. Will not call at: Edgware Road, Embankment, Kilburn Park, Lambeth North, Maida Vale, Piccadilly Circus and Regent’s Park.
Central: trains from West Ruislip and Ealing Broadway to White City every 10-15 minutes; between Hainault and Marble Arch every 10 minutes; between Epping and Leytonstone every 10 minutes; between Woodford and Hainault every 20-30 minutes. It's possible the service will be extended and trains will run the whole route. Will not call at: Bond Street, Bethnal Green, Chancery Lane, Holland Park, Lancaster Gate, Notting Hill Gate, Queensway, Redbridge, and Wanstead.
Circle: trains will run between Hammersmith and Aldgate every 10 minutes. Will not call at: Barbican, Great Portland Street and Ladbroke Grove.
District: trains will run every 10 minutes between Wimbledon and Upminster, every 15 minutes between Wimbledon and Edgware Road and every 15 minutes between Ealing Broadway and High Street Kensington. Will not call at: Sloane Square and Fulham Broadway.
Hammersmith and City: trains will run approx every 15 minutes between Edgware Road and Barking. Will not call at: Barbican, Great Portland Street and Ladbroke Grove.
Jubilee: a service will run across the whole line approx every seven minutes. Will not call at: Bermondsey, St. John’s Wood, Southwark and Swiss Cottage.
Metropolitan: trains will run approx every 10 minutes between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate, every 20 minutes between Uxbridge and Harrow-on-the-Hill and every 30 minutes between Amersham and Baker Street. Will not call at: Barbican, Great Portland Street, North Harrow, Northwood, Northwood Hills and Pinner.
Northern: drivers on the Northern line mainly belong to Aslef union, so a relatively normal service will run approx every five minutes. Will not call at: Angel, Borough, Chalk Farm, Embankment, Mornington Crescent and Warren Street.
Piccadilly: trains will run approx every 15 minutes between Acton Town and Heathrow, and every 15 minutes between Arnos Grove and Cockfosters. Will not call at: Heathrow Terminal 4, Heathrow Terminal 5, Hounslow West and Southgate.
Victoria: trains will run approx every five minutes over the whole line. Will not call at: Pimlico, Vauxhall and Warren Street.
Waterloo and City: trains will run every five minutes during the morning peak only.
DLR and London Overground services operate as normal.
