BLOOD: Today's opportunities to donate blood are at Brewers Hall in the City of London and Hyde Park Chapel in South Kensington. What better day to do it than Halloween? Free, see site for terms and conditions

HALLOWEEN: It's Halloween, in case you haven't read any of the other sentences in this article yet. Nearly everything is spook-related tonight, but if none of the below takes your fancy, we've made a handy Halloween listings article for you.

BEER: Even beer is getting in on the Halloween action. The Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival takes place in the rather magnificent ‘Le Gothique’ venue in the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building. PETRIFYING PUPPETS: Spend the day making creepy puppets at Little Angel Theatre – the London experts on puppets. £40/£20, prebook, 10am-4pm

EUROHORROR: Eurohorror at the Institute of Contemporary Arts brings together film historians, programmers and academics to discuss this cinematic tradition, critical category and marketing label. £12/£10/£5, prebook, from 11am

ART: Today is the last day you can see Couriers of Taste at Danson House in Bexleyheath — an exhibition that explores the relationship between international trade, global consumerism and cross-cultural influences. Free (with entry to the House at £7/£5), just turn up, 12-5pm

EUROPE: What does Europe want? Hear the discussion at Conway Hall this evening. Free, prebook, 6pm

FRANKENSTEIN: What a treat. Curzon Cinemas across London broadcasts the National Theatre Live’s 2011 production of Frankenstein, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller. £25/£17.50, prebook, times vary according to venue

DRACULA: Tooting Library is the spooky setting for an inventive, storytelling performances of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, courtesy of Open Book Theatre. £15/£12.50, prebook, 7pm

DOC: Rich Mix cinema is the location for a screening of A World Not Ours — a film that has won numerous awards for its unique and personal depiction of life in a Palestinian refugee camp. £7/£5, prebook, 8pm

BETHNAL GREEN: A series of film screenings at Saint John on Bethnal Green look at how London locations, East London and Bethnal Green specifically, are represented in film.
