Where to find funny this week

Sunday 16 June: It's pretty much all Edinburgh preview stuff this week. See Joe Lycett, ever such a nice and cheeky chap, testing out material at Hen and Chickens (7.30pm, £6).

Monday 17 June: Marcus Brigstocke is taking a show called Je m'accuse to Scotland this summer. Find out what it's about at the Canal Cafe Theatre (7.30pm, £7.50).

Tuesday 18 June: One of our favourite sketch groups, Sheeps are at the Invisible Dot with yes, an Edinburgh preview (7.45pm, £6).

Wednesday 19 June: Our Joel nearly had an aneurysm after seeing Max and Ivan last year, they were that good. Find out what's in store this year at the Pleasance (8pm, £5).

Thursday 20 June: The Arts Emergency Service was founded by Josie Long and Neil Griffiths, campaigning to keep arts and humanities subjects available to anyone who wants to study them. There's a fecking amazing line-up for this fundraiser at Hackney Empire: Mark Watson, Stewart Lee, Robin Ince, Kevin Eldon, Isy Suttie, Tim Key, Jo Neary, Kate Tempest, Joe Dunthorne, Jake and Dinos Chapman and of course Josie Long (8pm, £20 / £20).

Friday 21 June: Get idiosyncratic comedy for free at the Camden Head from Sara Pascoe and stand up storyteller Matthew Highton (7.30pm, £0).

Saturday 22 June: We're thinking of making Jen Brister some kind of friendship litmus test: if you don't like her caustically brilliant stand up, we won't ever get on. Find out at the Soho Theatre (7.15pm, £12.50 / £10).
