The Oxford Street Christmas lights will have a Harry Potter theme for 2026.
Over 5,000 white stars will once again dangle above the world-famous shopping street — as they have done every Christmas since 2021 — consisting of more than 300,000 LED lights, designed to use less energy than regular lights.
This year though, they'll be joined by a series of specially created illuminated designs to bring the world of Harry Potter to life.
The wizarding twist to the festive illuminations celebrates the opening of the world's largest Harry Potter store, which comes to Oxford Street on 4 November 2026, as well as the new HBO series Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
It's all change on Oxford Street this Christmas, as the western end goes pedestrianised from late-October 2026. Room for a quidditch pitch, perhaps?
The Oxford Street Christmas lights switch-on date is still being kept under wraps at the moment — though in line with previous years, we'd hazard a guess of around 2 November.
