Where to find funny this week

Sunday 10 February: Geekatorium at Leicester Square Theatre is the place to hear about nerdy obsessions. It happens about once a month: future guests include Helen Arney, Imran Yusuf and Nick Revell, but tonight it's Richard Herring and Mark Dolan (8pm, £10).

Monday 11 February: Head to the Soho Theatre for Alternative Comedy Memorial Society's leftfield take on laughter. Guests number in double figures and include Bridget Christie, Bec Hill, Phil Nichol, Michael Legge and Joel Dommett (8pm, £12.50).

Tuesday 12 February: Time Out present a cavalcade of sketch groups and comedians at the Pleasance for Joy of Sketch. See The Pyjama Men, the brilliant Jigsaw, Cardinal Burns, Sheeps, The Pin, Holly Burn, Thomas Nelstrop and Eleanor Thom (7.30pm, £12).

Wednesday 13 February: Invisible Dot produces some of the most exciting shows and acts around. They're putting on a monthly gig showcasing the 'new wave' and tonight it's the turn of Claudia O'Doherty, Jamie Demetriou, sister sketch act Toby, Oyster Eyes and Mat Ewins (7.45pm, £8).

Thursday 14 February: Book yourself two shows at the Soho Theatre for a full night of laughs: sketch group Wit Tank are on at 7.15pm (£12.50 / £10) and the incomparable Cariad Lloyd starts at 9pm (£12.50 / £10).

Friday 15 February: Sean Hughes is doing his most recent Edinburgh show, about his father's death, at the Tricycle Theatre (8pm, £18 / £16).

Saturday 16 February: When Londonist saw Max & Ivan: Are Con Artists (pictured) a few months ago we described them as "too good for human words" and "magnificent unicorns of comedy". You absolutely have to see it at Leicester Square Theatre as the duo round up a week-long takeover (7pm, £10).
