Rush Hour Chaos On The Central Line

Yesterday morning severe delays on the Central Line brought commuter chaos to hundreds of Londoners during the peak of rush hour.

Services between Marble Arch and White City were suspended at 8.15am as a result of a defect on the live rail in the Shepherd’s Bush area, and it wasn’t long before angry commuters took to Twitter to vent their frustration. ‘Central Line’ became a worldwide trending topic on the micro-blogging website, accompanied by the hashtag ‘Delayed.’

Nigel Holness, London Underground’s network services director claimed, "Engineering staff were on site immediately and are working flat out to repair the rail.”

A normal service finally resumed on the line late in the evening.

TfL has assured Londoners that refunds will be provided on journeys that were delayed for 15 minutes or more, but these must be claimed within 14 days.
