The 2012 Olympics are shaping up to be the best defended ever, with former MI5 agents apparently being drafted in to beef up security.
Not content with missiles, US security agents and a secret SAS base, the retired spooks will be keeping an eye out for any potential terror threat at the Games. A security source told The Mirror:
'Contracts have been given to a large number of former intelligence officers, technicians and surveillance specialists. The service has had to take on extra staff to cope with the massive increase of information about terrorist suspects that will flood in.'
