The sharp-eyed wanderer of Shoreditch will have long noted these facsimile fungi festooning the many semi-derelict buildings in these parts. This vibrant myco-medley is the work of Christian Nagel. Made from polyurethane 'surfboard foam', fiberglass and stainless steel, the brightly coloured mushrooms can be spotted all over the City fringes. We've plotted the ones we know about on the map below, but welcome additions in the comments.

Oh saw this as well, and took photos, much to the bemusement of various people. Photos on flickr.

There is, or at least was, one on top of a valeting garage at the corner of Camden Road and St Pancras Way. I'll check if it's still there tonight.

The Camden Road/St Pancras Way mushroom on top of the garage/car wash was there this morning, and today was the first time I noticed it.

A silver one has just appeared on a concrete wall, overlooking the A1 just below Archway ("suicide') bridge, N19.

There is also a dark (blue?) one atop the building next to Highgate station :)

I love these mushrooms ever since i saw my first one, red on top of the Boogaloo pub in Highgate maybe 3 months ago, not quite sure because i did'nt really register it until i saw my second whilst driving home from work along the Archway, as i approached the traffic lights in front of me on top of the building just ahead of the lights was a blue one, i was quite happy when i saw this and then connected it with the red one i'seen before, although the next day comming home it was gone so then i doubted that i even saw it!, but a couple of weeks later at the other end of the Archway another blue one appeared atop Highgate tyres, i was extremely happy to see it and both are still there 26.04.2011 and i've been looking around that area as i drive through each day in the hope more appear (silly really but i like them) then on my way to work this morning on top of shop along Hackney road a bright orange one, suffice to say this is why i had to check out on the internet what they are about, gonna keep looking for them now

Russyboy27

Blue ones gone from Highgate tyres

Colisto_

There have been three in east finchley, a red one on top of the station, grey by the Amazing Grates shop and now one on a building opposite the station

Russyboy27

weirdly the orange one in Hackney road became blue and has now gone, so of the 3 that i knew of i only have 1 left atop the Boogaloo, i am saddened by this, i really don't know why but they do make me smile!

Russyboy27

Blue one is now back on top of the Agra indian restaurant in Hackney road, and am insanely happy to see the return of the other blue one on top of Highgate tyres but would you believe it, there is now a yellow one on the same roof, i know i should'nt care but they really do make me smile, i'd like to thank the artist for doing this, good luck Christiaan and keep them coming

Russyboy27

Oh yes, you would'nt believe how spying another of these little babies makes me smile, on the journey home from work tonight what do i see not one but two new mushrooms at the end of Archway road on top of the houses facing the traffic lights one red and one silver, happy days.

Russyboy27

Can,t believe it, after spotting the 2 on the roof yesterday another one joined them today, purple, all 3 are together, love em!

mushlover

there are at least 4 on archway road highgate. one silver before the bridge coming from archway, one red on the boogaloo bar and 2 more past the garage at the end of archway road

nf2012

there is a new red one one the Birdcage Pub on Columbia road. Has just appeared in the last week.

One landed on the roof of our business, Impact Marketing. We typically display leaflets and brochures for the arts industry as part of our Print Display service but are not adverse to displaying the odd mushroom now and again.

Will Perrin

There's one opposite Shoreditch Electricity Showrooms on Hoxton St.

David James

Wait a minute, he only does mushrooms? That must get a bit repetitive, why doesn't he just get a job in a factory and stop foisting these inane excrescences on us?

Russyboy27

changed jobs last year and missed spotting them on my way to work, but riding my bike along the canal between bow and Kingsland Road spotted one on top of a building on the other side of the canal, once again made me stupidly happy, this was maybe 5 months ago, then sort of forgot about them until today once more cycling along Kingsland Road spotted one then another and finally one more , I know it sounds stupid but they do make me smile

Tye Ekrem

Bethnel green road, two more here also

Jago

There's another of the these rather amusing mushrooms opposite Bibendum on the Fulham road and a yellow one sitting on a little house off Pelham crescent.

Howard

lots and lots of mush man's mushrooms on the roof of Ombra, Hackney

Sara
