What's On In London This Weekend? 13-15 August

What are you up to this weekend? Here's a round up of our recommendations and a smattering of suggestions to help you make the most of your 48 hours leisure time.

Casablanca at Culpeper tonight
All weekend:

  • Give the River Thames some love and clean it up with Thames21.
  • Nathan Penlington's Uri and Me, Scott Capurro doing stand up, a Bruce Springsteen obsession and much more at The Camden Fringe.
  • Eat game to mark the passing of The Glorious Twelfth.
  • Perform Revolutionary Steps courtesy of Stan's Cafe at the National Theatre.
  • Friday:

  • Horse racing meets streetdance at Kempton Park tonight as Diversity entertain once the runners and riders have crossed the line. £15, kids go free. Gates 4.30pm, racing 6.20pm.
  • Watch Casablanca in Culpeper Community Garden, Islington N1. It's an outdoor thing so go prepared! 6.30-11pm, kicking off with music, food and drinks. Suggested donation £5 towards Room To Heal. Reserve your place matt@room2heal.org.uk.

    Saturday:

  • Head to St Paul's Green Hammersmith to browse the outdoor library, book swap and play board games between 12-2pm.
  • Myatt's Fields Park hosts an Indian Barbecue around the bandstand between 5-7pm
  • London Salsa rules the world with Mezcla de Londres at The Tabernacle, Powis Square, W11. Tickets £8 adv/£10 on the door, including a salsa lesson at 6.30pm for all levels.
  • Enfield Fake Festival presents fake Oasis, fake Red Hot Chilli Peppers and fake Guns and Roses. Rock out, no faking! £25 on the door.
  • Watch flying freestyle motocross at Battersea Power Station with Red Bull X-Fighters 2010
  • Utrophia, that old ice cream factory in Deptford hosts a disposable film festival at 8pm, £5.

    Sunday:

  • Head to Brockwell Park to sample the best jerk chicken and fish in town
  • Celebrate Italian festival Ferragosto at 69 Colebrooke Row, Islington N1 from 2pm till midnight. Live music, Italian food, movies and ice cream.
