Borders ain't the only ones jumping ship. McDonald's today announced that they're moving their European headquarters from London to Geneva, Switzerland. Nothing to do with corporate tax rates, claims spokesman Ed Petter. The move apparently allows them to 'align matters connected with intellectual property'. We're not quite sure what that means, but hope it has something to do with ley lines. Oh, wait, the FT explains it more sensibly and succinctly. McDonald's are currently based in East Finchley. It's unclear how the move, set for autumn, will affect jobs. Image by Matthew Gidley in the Londonist Flickr pool.
