Even on its quietest weeks, London is something of a happy haven for bibliophiles such as ourselves, though we may be doing nothing more than perusing one of the city’s many lovely bookshops. This week, however, we’re in a veritable book geek heaven, as the London literary scene goes all glittery, playing host to some major names and fantastic events, leaving us tongue-tied and weak at the knees. Do we gush? Very well then,......

Talks between the RMT and LU have resumed but at a speaking engagement last night Ken Livingstone made it very clear that he wasn't about to cave in to the Union's demands. An African pastor was arrested in south London yesterday regarding allegations made on the Today programme that he identified children as witches and encouraged their parents to beat them. George Galloway squared up to Labour's Oona King in Bethnal Green this week in the first of what is bound to be a bruising series of clashes between the New Labour candidate and George’s Respect Party. When asked about the problem of drugs in the constituency, George answered in a way which suggests that he might still be a bit upset over that whole Iraq war business: "If the Royal Navy was not patrolling......

Slandered and now vindicated, MP George Galloway, is coming to London to stick it to the pro-war New-Labourites. Mustachioed Galloway is set to contest the seat of Bethnal Green, the home of Pro-War Labour MP Oona King, in Londons East end. Thrown out of the Labour party under a cloud of treasonous allegations, George formed the Respect Party in January and now that his libel case against the Daily Telegraph has finished (George -......
