We loved folk disco boy Rod Thomas a couple of years ago and we're still impressed with his songs which are just crying out for a mainstream release, particularly now in a world where Noah & The Whale can go top ten! Tonight he plays Water Rats as part of a triple headlining bill featuring the equally talented Sam Issac and James Yuill. Catch them for just £6 from 7pm.......

PiE&MASH's monthly grub and tunes party night in Vauxhall is going apocalyptic tonight. Yes, in the face of farting cows, melting ice caps and rising temperatures eat pie, get drunk and boogie! Doors at 8pm, entry is free and grub's up around 10.30pm. It's the end of the world as we know it, so let's eat pie. Find the fun at the Vauxhall Griffin.......

We were rather impressed by the Hayward's Psycho Buildings exhibition when it opened back in May, and Londoners appear to have shared our enthusiasm: the show has been packed out all summer. It closes on Bank Holiday Monday, meaning this weekend is your last chance to row a jerry-rigged boat across a flooded sculpture garden or see the London skyline from atop a giant inflatable bubble. The gallery is open till 10pm tonight, tickets are......

Huw Stephen's club night makes its monthly return to The Social on Little Portland Street, W1. This month, Manchester-based electro-pop quartet Cats In Paris will make their London debut while celebrating the release of their debut full length, Courtcase 2000. Also on the bill tonight are Spencer McGarry Season, Alan Mix, and Martin Carr, but we recommend getting on board with the melodic cacophony and Nintendo-esque sounds of the faux-Parisians. Doors are at 7pm and......

Foxy new girl group Red Blooded Women will be touting their wares tonight at Water Rats from 8pm. Continuing the 80s theme of the last 18 months, they're not afraid to be pop and mainstream, never more so in the Yazoo sampling 'Color Me Bad'. Download a megamix of their album for free here and if you like it come and join us on the dancefloor tonight. Tickets are £6 here.......

FREE TONIGHT? Don’t forget it’s Prom Season. Royal Albert Hall goers at lunchtime were treated to a Dr. Who Spectacular with a specially recorded mini-episode of the cult programme being screened, and featuring classical music from around the galaxy (we don’t actually mean like Klingon Opera, but stuff like Holst’s Planets). Anyway, by way of complete contrast, this evening sees a performance of Massiaen’s ‘La Transfiguration', a rousing and passionate piece guaranteed to bring out......

Failed to get hold of some Leonard Cohen tickets, but want to see some live music on the cheap? Well you could saunter down to the iconic St George's Tavern set on the Commercial Road for the super cool Liar Liar Club's first outing to the East End. Normally found in the increasingly 'too cool for school' environs of Deptford, they are firmly a mod-y, garage punky club with their DJs playing a mixture......

Broadcaster and author Jonathan Dimbleby is at the Royal Geographical Society to discuss and sign copies of Russia: A Journey to the Heart of a Land and Its People, the travelogue of his 10,000-mile journey around the country that Churchill dubbed ‘a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma’.
