At the southern tip of the Isle of Dogs, a mere tunnel's length from tourist Greenwich, you'll find the decidedly non-touristy Lord Nelson. It's what some might call a 'good old-fashioned boozer', with no pretensions, no complicated craft ales, no gastro-fare, but bags of jolly atmosphere. The corner Victorian building contains many references to its nautical namesake. It also contains a pool table, which is always very welcome, and got plenty of play on our visit. The beer range is fine, if nothing remarkable, while the inexpensive pub grub is heavy on the pies and burgers.
