More Eurostar trains will run between London and Amsterdam — owing to popularity of the London to Amsterdam/Rotterdam route, which opened earlier this year.
From June 2019 onwards, a third Eurostar train will be added to the service every day, to meet high demand. It will add 58% capacity to the route.
Since launching the service in April 2018, Eurostar has carried over 130,000 additional customers.
And it won't stop there, either. An further increased service is promised by Eurostar, once border controls allow a direct journey from The Netherlands to the UK; at this point the company intends to double the current number of trains each day to four, with ambitions for five services a day.
Currently, passengers returning from the Netherlands must take a Thalys train from Amsterdam Centraal to Brussels-Midi/Zuid, then a Eurostar back to London from there.
In a time when London is being forcibly distanced from Europe, it's reassuring that tangible ties like this one are only becoming stronger.
