Pétanque, Pimm's And Panoramic Views: Skylight At Tobacco Dock Announces Its Summer Launch Date

East London rooftop bar Skylight at Tobacco Dock reopens for its summer 2019 season in May.

The venue ditches its winter ice rink in favour of lawn games, and swaps out mulled wine for summer cocktails.

Spread across three floors at the top of a multi-storey car park, with a bar on each level, Skylight offers views of the London skyline to be enjoyed from communal tables, and bookable day-beds and garden booths.

If you're looking for a livelier afternoon out, croquet, pétanque and table tennis are available to play both indoors and outdoors, catering for groups of two to six people.

The raised bar at the top has been spruced up with extra greenery for the new season, and is available for private hire. Meanwhile, the main pergola bar is still the central focus of the venue, serving cocktails by the glass or pitcher, Pimm's, beer, spirits and champagne.

Downstairs, the sheltered lower level is home to street food stalls YIRO — specialising in Greek fusion dishes — and vegan burger restaurant Flipside. It also hosts guest DJs for club nights.

Keep an eye on the website for details of special events through the summer, including opera at Skylight and dog day, as well as large-screen broadcasts of Wimbledon, the FA Cup Final and the Rugby World Cup.

Skylight at Tobacco Dock reopens on Thursday 2 May 2019. Entry is free, with tables bookable in advance for £10 for up to ten people. Croquet and pétanque start at £15, and table tennis starts at £5.
