Tacos, Tequila And Luchadores: A Mexican Rooftop Bar Is Opening In East London

A Las Mexicanas themed rooftop bar opens in east London in May.

Queen of Hoxton's rooftop will be transformed into the secret den of the Luchadores (Mexican wrestlers), with a makeover inspired by the vibrant town of San Cristóbal in Mexico.

Laze around under the (hopefully) sun, tucking into tacos, tequila and giant frozen Margaritas, or step into the wrestling ring where you can learn the moves from Lola Gonzalez, the rebel Queen of the Lucha
Libre movement.

There's also an arm wrestling stage, and plenty of events taking place throughout the summer, including a Cinco de Mayo party, insect, mezcal and tequila tasting, and a workshop on Mexican food for dummies.

Speaking of food, there's a fine line-up of nosh and booze, including tacos, nachos and hot chilli cheese burgers, washed down with tequila, frozen margaritas and mezcal, as well as some fruitier options.

Las Mexicanas at Queen of Hoxton opens 2 May-October 2019. Monday-Friday 4pm-10pm, Saturday-Sunday 1pm-10pm. Entry is free except for special events — check the website.
