National bakery chain Greggs is closing all its stores on Tuesday, it has announced.
In a statement posted on its website and on social media, CEO Roger Whiteside said:
Thank you to our amazing colleagues for the hard work they have been putting in every day... While we are closed, we will continue supporting our colleagues with full contract hours for as long as we are able although we will need to keep this under review as the situation develops.
The company has 20,000 staff across its 1,700 stores.
