A food market with seating for 450 people will open in new skyscraper 22 Bishopsgate early next year.
Known simply as The Market, the new foodie destination will contain a restaurant, several food and drinks stalls, a wine bar and a terrace.
Restaurant company Rhubarb — which already runs dining spots in the Walkie Talkie Sky Garden and Centre Point — will run the project, with input from The YBFs (Young British Foodies — an organisation seeking recognition for up and coming chefs and food producers). No word yet on the cuisines or food types to expect, but we do know that the stalls and pop-ups will be rotated regularly to keep things fresh.

The 278m tall tower, which will be the tallest in the City of London, and second tallest in London after The Shard, is due to open towards the end of 2019. However, The Market will be located on the second floor, so don't arrive expecting skyline views alongside your sarnies. It'll be open to employees working in the building's own office space during the day, and opened to the public at evenings and weekends.

The Market isn't the only imminent foodie addition to Bishopsgate. Eataly, an Italian food market, is due to open at 135 Bishopsgate — part of the Broadgate estate — also in 2020.
