What do you love about London? What are your dreams for London? This writing competition is looking for entries.

Every year, the London Society runs its Love Letters to London competition. Anyone can take part. All you have to do is write a short, positive piece on a London topic.

This year's competition is themed 'London Dreams', to mark the 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King's sermon at St Paul's Cathedral (more on his London links here).

The London Society was founded in 1912 for those who love London and want to make it a better place.  For this year's Love Letters to London competition, it asks:

What are your passions, hopes and dreams for this incredible city? We all need to dream to conjure up a brighter future. Let your imagination run riot, spill your dreams onto the page in prose and poetry (or both!).

This year's writing competition is the biggest yet, with a special award ceremony in St Paul's and a share of £4,000 up for grabs. Anyone can enter, with separate categories for children and teens. Just get your dreams in by 20 December 2024.

Full details and rules can be found here.
