Secret Adventures Let You Explore London's Hidden Side

How do you fancy paddling along an icy waterway in the dark, exploring a Stygian basin and a set of abandoned catacombs, then settling down to watch a candlelit acoustic gig in a brick-lined cavern? You can do all this in one evening with Secret Adventures, a meetup group for anyone who wants to explore London's wild or unusual side.

Secret Adventures has been running for around a year now, and has attracted nearly 3,000 members. The group organises a meetup almost every week. Previous jaunts include a night time kayak trip from Limehouse to Crate Brewery, a moonlit skinny dip in a secret London lake, and wild camping on an island that you have to swim to. The new year sees the group prepare for derring-do in still more exotic locations, with a wilderness survival weekend and a couple of trips to the Arctic Circle by dog sled. Further London events will be announced shortly.

The photos below give a taster of the recent Concert in the Catacombs event. To keep things mysterious for future occasions, we've been asked not to reveal the location (and please keep schtum in the comments if you think you know). Suffice it to say, we're hooked.
