Ticket Alert: Watch National Theatre Plays On A Rooftop Screen

The Deck

Missed out on seeing One Man, Two Guvnors at the theatre, or wish you could see Victorian comedy London Assurance again? In August you can, on pop-up cinema screens on the roof of The National Theatre.

The Deck, the rooftop events venue on top of the iconic NT building on Southbank, hosts a pop-up summer cinema club for one week in August.

Daily at 1.30pm, the stage version of London Assurance (with Simon Russell Beale) will be screened, portraying the story of Sir Harcourt Courtly who moves to Gloucestershire, lured by the promise of a rich and beautiful bride. Naturally, things don't go to plan, but we won't ruin the plot for anyone who didn't catch the show during its 2010 run at the Oliver Theatre.

Later on, at 7pm, One Man, Two Guvnors, starring James Corden, is screened. Now on a UK tour, the comedy show is about Francis Henshall, who takes jobs with two employers whose lives are intermingled, but he must keep them apart. Cue songs, satire and slapstick comedy.

Both shows were filmed live on the National Theatre stage, and both are shown every day of the week 11-16 August.

The Deck screens these National Theatre stage productions 11-16 August. Tickets £25/£20 are available online, by calling the box office on 020 7452 3000 or emailing [email protected].
