London Comedy: Adam Riches, Jack Dee, Sketchfest

See Adam Riches for free

Our selection of London’s alternative, clever and offbeat comedy gigs this week.

Free Adam Riches

At the time of writing there are tickets available to free warm up shows for Adam Riches's next Radio 4 series, over at Invisible Dot in King's Cross. Dates are 28 April, 5 and 12 May — get in quick, we don't think these will be around for long. Free (obvs), 7pm

Ben Target and John-Luke Roberts

There's more free previews, this time at the Camden Head and from thoughtful, whimsical, offbeat and occasionally just nuts Ben Target and John-Luke Roberts. 28 April, free, 7.30pm

Bright Club

UCL's regular night of comedy and academia makes its semi-regular trip to the Bloomsbury Theatre on 29 April to celebrate its fifth birthday. The excellently sardonic David Morgan hosts and Suzi Ruffell headlines, plus you'll learn stuff about the economy, shipping, vampires and more. £8 + bf, 7.30pm

Sketchfest

We've already told you about Sketchfest, so think of this as a reminder. Running 1-4 May in Bethnal Green, the festival features established sketch and character comedy plus a competition for newer acts. Tickets cost £55 for the whole festival, £23 for day tickets or £13 for individual shows.

Jack Dee

More of a heads up, this one: Jack Dee is at the Soho Theatre 6-10 May to solve your problems with his new Helpdesk. It has its own Twitter account, this is evidently going to be A Thing. Guests confirmed include Katherine Ryan, Peter Tatchell and, er, Lembit Opik. Take your seat and bring your neuroses. £12.50, 7pm
