Wanted: London Short Fiction With A Christmas Theme

christmas carolWe've been running a short fiction slot on Sundays for a few months now. Londonist readers are a talented bunch, sending in gripping stories on everything from seedy strip clubs to phantom tigers to railway trespass. So we thought we'd add a seasonal twist and put out a call for Christmas-inspired short stories.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Your story must be under 1,000 words.
  • It must be either set in London, or be noticeably influenced by London.
  • It must have some kind of Christmas theme or setting.

Perhaps you'll write a modern-day parody of A Christmas Carol. Maybe you'll jot down a conversation between Nelson and the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree. Or perhaps you'll recount the time Santa got stuck up Battersea Power Station chimney. Be as creative as you like.

We'll publish the best entries between now and New Year, so get writing pronto.

Please send all entries to fiction@londonist.com.

We'll continue to publish non-seasonal short fiction in the New Year, so feel free to still send in short stories along those lines.
