Take A Blue Plaque Bike Tour Of Kensington And Chelsea

bikemindedKensington and Chelsea famously contains some of the most expensive properties in the world. No surprise, then, that it's attracted an abundance of notable people over the years, including Oscar Wilde, Captain Scott, Bram Stoker, Mark Twain and Agatha Christie.

On 14 September 2013, Bikeminded and Festival of the Bicycle are organising a cycling tour around  some of the borough's plaques. Experienced guide John Bailey will lead the group. If you're new to cycling in the capital, and perhaps a little intimidated at the prospect, this is an excellent way to find your pedals, as marshalls will also be on hand to keep the group feeling safe.

You can take part either on your own bike or by hiring one from the dock next to Gloucester Road tube station (the starting point). Tickets are just £5 (plus any cycle hire fees), but must be booked in advance.
