The Rolling Stones have confirmed that they will play a one-off gig in Hyde Park on 6 July, a week after their hugely anticipated Glastonbury performance. The show will be the Saturday headline act at the forthcoming British Summer Time Festival, which will also see relative newcomers Bon Jovi take to the stage on the Friday.
The last time Mick Jagger et al. played Hyde Park, humans had yet to land on the moon. Their last appearance here was precisely 44 years to the day on 6 July 1969, two days after the death of guitarist Brian Jones.
Tickets for the Stones gig will go on general sale Friday 5 April at 9am, or are available right now if you're into Barclaycard Unwind.
