London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 17-23 March

Where to find funny this week

Sunday 17 March: The Pleasance says there's tickets available for Adam Hills's work in progress show. This has said sold out for a while so don't expect them to hang about. And now we're busy and can't go. DAMN. But you could (8pm, £7).

Monday 18 March: Two more work in progress shows at the Soho Theatre. Mark Thomas warms up for a new series of his Manifesto radio show (7.45pm, £10) and David Baddiel is there all week, working out his first stand up show in 15 years (9.30pm, £12).

Tuesday 19 March: Chris Coltrane's friendly politics night Lolitics is back at Camden's Black Heart. Guests include satire supremo Andy Zaltzman, Tiffany Stevenson, Maeve Higgins, Jim Campbell, Luke Toulson and Tory MP Sir Ian Bowler (8.30pm, £3).

Wednesday 20 March: The charity Archive Architecture for Health, that works in Haiti, Cameroon, Brent and Newham, has a fundraiser at the RADA Studio Theatre with Josh Widdicombe, Dan Wright, Mark Simmons and Craig Murray (7.30pm, £20 / £15).

Thursday 21 March: Works in progress are very much a theme of this week, but we're not apologising: these shows can be hugely fun (and a relatively cheap way to see big names). Alex Horne (pictured) is at the Canal Cafe Theatre tonight and, er, yesterday (7.30pm, £6.50 / £5).

Friday 22 March: Zoe Lyons headlines Comedy Carnival in Leicester Square, with Alistair Barrie and Andrew Bird (8pm, £12).

Saturday 23 March: Shazia Mirza performs her show Cuckooland at the Canada Water Culture Space (7.30pm, £12 / £10).

Book ahead: See Bill Bailey and his Qualmpeddler show at Leicester Square Theatre 24/25 March and 15/16 April (£20).
