Now the Ginger Line (prosaically, also called The Overground) fully girdles the capital, it is inspiring all kinds of projects and adventures. We embarked on a series of pub crawls. Two designers have reworked the Tube map to put the Overground centre stage. And many have wandered along the route, rediscovering newly connected parts of town.
A circular route also raises an obvious, if ultimately useless, question: is it quicker to circumnavigate the capital clockwise or anticlockwise? Vicki Pipe sets the challenge, and coaxes two teams into racing each other round the loop. Geoff Marshall films the escapade.
