London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 2-8 December

Where to find funny this week

Sunday 2 December: This is a bit of a departure from our normal 'one a day' format, but you could happily spend half a day at Leicester Square Theatre. Start at 4.30pm (£12.50 / £10.50) with Henning Wehn's German Christmas Do (which we enjoyed last year) then Francesca Martinez asks "what the **** is normal?" (7.30pm, £15 / £13). Quickly belt downstairs for Max and Ivan's Roffle Club, our pick of London's sketch nights, with guests The Beta Males, Nick Mohammed, Ben Target, Jessie Cave and Noise Next Door (8.30pm, £8 / £6) or take a breather before catching Jerry Sadowitz's latest work in progress (9.30pm, £14.50).

Monday 3 December: There's another chance to see The Beta Males at the Good Ship in Kilburn, along with Alex Maple, Mae Martin and musical comedians Jonny and the Baptists (8.30pm, £4 / £5).

Tuesday 4 December: Bridget Christie's Edinburgh show War Donkey sets up residence at the Soho Theatre for a few days, asking questions about feminism and Tories (9.15pm, £10-£15).

Wednesday 5 December: Sara Pascoe, who we reviewed a few days ago (though 'review' is a very loose term for an article 50% concerned with maths about toilets), is doing some new stuff at the Camden Head with Friday Night Dinner star and stand-up Tom Rosenthal (8pm, £3).

Thursday 6 December: Nick Mohammed brings his memory/lifestyle guru Mr Swallow (pictured) to London for a show about maths. (It won't be about maths.) If you want excellent manic character comedy, allow us to steer you towards the Invisible Dot tonight, yesterday (er) and next week (7.45pm, £10).

Friday 7 December: Back to the Camden Head for a club night from Laugh Out London with the über-fantastic Helen Arney and her uke headlining. Also on the bill are Pat Cahill, John Kearns, Turonimo Numpty (Grainne Maguire and Lou Sanders), Phil O'Shea and Jack De'ath. Stuart Laws MCs, and all for three quid (7.30pm).

Saturday 8 December: Omid Djalili headlines Live at the Chapel tonight, with offbeat support from deadpan Norwegian Daniel Simonsen, one-third of Sheeps Liam Williams, Cardinal Burns and Andrew Maxwell MCing (7.45pm, £18 / £16).
