  • Canada Day celebrations begin in Trafalgar Square at 10.30am with mounties, cooking, hockey and live music until 10pm (free entry).
  • It's free entry to Eltham Palace (one of our top historic houses) as it hosts Greenwich World Cultural Festival with an afternoon of free dance, theatre, music and circus from around the world from 12.30-4.30pm (free).
  • East London Mela offers live music, performance, stalls and family fun in Barking Park from noon to 8pm (adults £5, children £3).
  • Visit Brompton Cemetery Open Day, take a tour and visit the catacombs from 11am-5pm (free entry, donation for tours £5).
  • Cine-East is a complete east end film takeover with feature and short screenings, workshops, talks, cinema trails and competitions at 100 venues from midday to midnight (all free).
  • Watch toe-tapping new music documentaries at South Africa Revisited thanks to DocHouse at the Tricycle, Kilburn at 5pm and 8pm (£15 double bill, £9.50 single).
  • Greenwich and Docklands International Festival closes climactically with Le Voyage des Aquarêves through the streets of Woolwich starting 9.30pm (free).
