Keep an eye out for a new London newspaper on your way to work today. Scout London officially launches this morning. The free handout can be picked up at many of the larger stations.
If the name's familiar, that's because Scout launched a trial issue a few months ago, and the website has been running since autumn last year. The content is refreshingly low on the tacky celebrity stories and nonsense on stilts peddled by most of the freesheets that have been trialled in London in recent years. Indeed, it's closer to a free version of Time Out than the Standard, with colourful listings pages and a thorough guide to London's Festivals. It's a well-written, well-curated mix of stories about life in the capital that should appeal broadly.
