Club Watch Bank Holiday Special: Floating Points, Field Day, Toby Tobias, Hudson Mohawke

So, a four day break to celebrate the fact that Queen Elizabeth is playing upfront with Andy Carroll at the Olympics, right? If you're not spending the entire time eating cucumber sandwiches, spinning Vera Lynn and talking wistfully of the colonies then you're not really getting into the spirit of things. Nonetheless here are our the picks for an immense weekend.

Friday night sees Dimensions launch its festival with a one-off party in London. Ignore the fact that the Croatian event isn't til September, and gorge yourself on an enticing lineup. Floating Points will be performing his warm and wonderful take on deep house, fellow Eglo Records talent Funkineven his brand of neon-hued electro and the original dubstepper, DMZ member Mala, will be bringing us his latest bass meditations.

Undoubtedly the best dance music line up for Saturday isn't anywhere near a club. It could only be Field Day - the annual event where all of East London piles into a confined space other than the Alibi for a day of intense musical overload. As usual the line up is incredibly strong — Fennesz, Kassem Mosse, Zomby, Blawan and Laurel Halo to name a few. Whether the perennial problems of overcrowding and dodgy sound have been fixed remain to be seen. If that isn't your vibe Fabric has a strong Continental bill in the evening, with Parisian house trio Apollonia, Berlin's Berghain resident Ben Klock, and most excitingly an entire room for Italian techno duo Tale of Us.

Sunday demands something a little less full on, and the launch of Physical Motion fits the bill. A new night at Whitechapel's intimate Rhythm Factory, London house heads Dan Beaumont and Toby Tobias will be overseeing proceedings. With both spinning an disco influenced take on house music, fans of Tiger & Woods and Mark E would be wise to put in an appearance.

Still going? A Hip Hop set from Hudson Mohawke at Village Underground will surely see off your remaining energy reserves. While active for the last few years, it is only in the last 12 months that the rest of the world seems to have finally caught on to the Glaswegian producer's maximalist prog-cum-rave stylings. Hudson Mohawke's recent production clients include the face of 2012 Azealia Banks and a little known shy and retiring American by the name of Kanye West. Expect crunk bangers and mutant hip hop strains til the wee hours. Don't expect to see Prince William trying to dougie.
