Wednesday: Katy Darby reads from her gothic novel The Whore's Asylum at The Wapping Project (7.30pm, free).
Duncan Barrett and Nuala Calvi are talking about Tate & Lyle's Sugar Girls at Clapham Books (7pm, free).
Paul Lyalls hosts an open mic night at Canvas and Cream in Forest Hill (7.30pm, £3 / £4).
Thursday: Ed Vulliamy revealed Serbian ethnic cleansing camps to the world. Hear him talk about the experience at Daunt Books in Chelsea (7pm, £5).
John Agard and Melanie Abrahams host London Liming spoken word at Rich Mix, with guests John Hegley, Roger Robinson, Hannah Lowe and James Ingham (8pm, £7 / £5).
Top performance poet Inua Ellams starts a run of Black T-shirt Collection at the National Theatre, a show about two foster brothers building a t-shirt empire (various dates and times, £15 / £12 / £5).
Dan Simpson and Niall O'Sullivan are the guests at stand up poetry night Bang Said the Gun in SE1 (8pm, £5).
Jacob Sam-La Rose is judging the new Venture poetry award. Hear the recently shortlisted poets at Oxford House Theatre in Bethnal Green (6.30pm, £7 includes free book).
Friday: Three debut authors gather at Bookseller Crow on the Hill to read from their work and chat: hear Lloyd Shepherd, Will Wiles (formerly of these parts) and Sophia Blackwell (7.30pm, free).

Saturday: David Lean's Oliver Twist is showing at various cinemas around town as part of Cityread London. You can get in free if you're a library card holder. There are events for Cityread London happening every day this month.
Jeremy Sallon hosts Platform 1 at the Poetry Cafe, a place to see new and established poets. Tonight catch Hollie McNish, Joshua Mackle, Kavita Jindal, Bang Said the Gun's Rob Auton, Anna Percy and Robert Vas Dias (7.30pm, £5 / £4).
Sunday: The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company bring Dickens to life at the Museum of Childhood, comic artist Karen Rubins will create strips and a food historian is on hand as part of Cityread London (from 10am, free).
Monday: There's an evening of contemporary Chinese poetry at the London Review Bookshop (7pm, £7).
Poet in the City and the Browning Society curate a night at Kings Place celebrating Robert Browning's Pied Piper poem (7pm, £9.50).
Romanian poet Andrei Codrescu reads from and discusses his work at the Free Word Centre (7pm, £8 / £7).
