As anyone who's been to the West End, City, Canary Wharf, Southbank or Chelsea will know, London is currently albumenaced by over 200 giant painted eggs. The Big Egg Hunt, which runs until the end of March, includes many weird and wonderful designs from leading artists and designers.

We took a Boris bike around town over the weekend to snap some of the finest. Turns out that regular Londonist Flickr pool contributor Mike Murphy did the same, and with a better ability to take good photographs. So here's a selection of ovoid highlights from him and us.

And a piece of good news. The two eggs which were stolen in the early days of the Big Egg Hunt have been retrieved. Natasha Shaw's Hatch was recovered by police last week, and now we hear via Twitter that the post box egg (pictured above) has also been found.
