Things To Do In London On The Cheap: 10-16 October

Monday: The Poetry Studio hosts the launch of The Wolf Magazine, issue 25 with readings and cake from 7.30pm (free entry).

Tuesday: Find out about illustrator and novelist Mervyn Peake at a talk hosted by the Sohemian Society at the Wheatsheaf, Rathbone Place London W1T 1JB from 7pm (£3 on the door).

Wednesday: Get down to the panel discussion about fanzine culture at Rough Trade East, home to the 'Caught by the River' book store in branch, from 6.30pm (free, no wristband required).

Thursday: Take part in the comedy improv, pub quiz, gameshow Fingers on Buzzards where wrong answers win prizes at The Horse Bar, 122-124 Westminster Bridge Road SE1 from 8pm (£5).

Find out what Aleister Crowley got up to in pre-revolutionary Russia (hint: seven violins, three nymphomaniacs, four dipsomaniacs, two prudes) at SELFS at the Old Kings Head, Borough SE1 from 8pm - all welcome (£2.50).

Friday: Take a look round the Sunday Art Fair at P3, 35 Marylebone Road NW1 which is open until 11pm tonight (also open Sat & Sun showing a selection of 20 young international galleries, exhibiting work by artists at the fore of emerging talent (free).

Saturday: Home Movie Day at the Cinema Museum, Kennington is a chance to get your old family films transferred to a modern format at the free Film Clinic and watch some celebrated home movie making over tea and cake between 11.30am-4pm (free).

Sunday: The Native Spirit Film Festival celebrates the cultures of Indigenous peoples across the Earth in film between 12-21 October. Today at SOAS there's a children's workshop between 12-2pm, a selection of features plus from 6pm onwards, a special evening dedicated to 'messages from indigenous Australia' with screenings and discussion (suggested donation £5 on the door).

Celebrate 10 years of Diwali on the Square from 2-7pm at Trafalgar Square (free).
