Festivals galore and Pride London dominate your cheap and free picks this week
Friday: Watch the Waka on the Thames from Southbank Riverside Walkway at 10.30am as sixteen Maori warriors in traditional dress row an ornate carved Maori war canoe past for the City of London Festival. Later, they'll do a Haka in Paternoster Square.
It's Canada Day in Trafalgar Square with a round of 'O Canada' and the ceremonial puck dropping at 10.30am and all sorts of activities and performances, including meet the Mounties, yoga, the Canadian Paralympians, hockey and live music until 10pm.
The free Watch This Space festival begins today outside the National Theatre on the Southbank. It starts with a spaceship and goes on till September.
London Street Photography Festival opens in and around Kings Cross with a whole host of exhibitions, many free to visit. You can also see images at some very special bus stops.
Saturday: Kids will love the Nasty Nature family day at the Grant Museum at UCL. It's free to drop in between 11am-4.30pm.
Tour Kensal Green Cemetery and catacombs during their Open Day between 11am-5pm. There'll be a village fete affair in the grounds, tours are £5.
Take a picnic to Blythe Hill Fields Festival SE23 for local music talent, Punch and Judy, welly wanging and face painting plus lots of stalls selling goodies. Between 11am-4.30pm.
The Pride London Parade starts at 1pm from Broadcasting House, Regent Street with free live entertainment on the Trafalgar Square stage from 2-7.45pm.
See the dancing diggers and much more as Canary Wharf becomes Dancing City for the Greenwich and Docklands Festival between 1-5pm. All performances free.
Watch Wimbledon on the big screen at Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf from 11am (and Sunday).
Go to the St Martin's Courtyard Garden Party in Covent Garden for free cake, strawberries, Pimms, fashion shows, games and goodie bags between 12-5pm.
Ealing Summer Festivals kick off with Greenford Carnival on Ravenor Park between 12-7pm. Entry for adults £2, kids free.
Sunday: A good excuse to visit our top historic house: Eltham Palace, which hosts the free Greenwich World Culture Festival with dance, music and theatre performances in the grounds between 12.30-4.30pm.
Take the Brixton Mural Walk. Meet 2pm at Stockwell Station. RSVP Facebook.
Monday: Watch Madam Butterfly on the big screen for free in Trafalgar Square Madam Butterfly live from the Royal Opera House from 7.30pm. Get there a bit early and join in the Madam Butterfly National
Hum-Along at 7pm.
An opportunity to try Middle Eastern music at the More London Scoop: get along to the Arab Music Festival between 5.30-7pm.
Tuesday: Watch graduates of The Circus Space rehearse their show for Watch This Space outside the National Theatre between 10am-6pm.
Wednesday: Watch Office Musicians of the Year perform in their lunchbreak at Guildhall Yard, free, 12.30.
Thursday: Spend a summer's evening with poetry and music in Haringey's Railway Fields, 7-9.30pm, free.
