A sextet of colourful mushrooms appeared on top of the Stables Market buildings last night. The latest installation by street artist Christiaan Nagel follows on from his Serpentine adventure a month ago, which was quickly removed by park authorities.
Whether the six new fungi will fare better remains to be seen. Camden Markets are at least superficially bohemian, and the vibrant mushrooms fit in perfectly with the area's long tradition of using oversized props for shop signs. The local authorities are likely to take a dim view of the rooftop trespass and decoration, however, especially as the buildings concerned are Grade II listed.
We previously mapped other mushrooms by Nagel.
