Preview: London Drinker Beer and Cider Festival 2011

This year's London Drinker festival really can celebrate London drinking with 8 local breweries pitching up for a dedicated bar, including our beer quest friends Redemption, Meantime, Kernel and Brodie's.

There are over 80 beers in total on the festival's British Cask List, around 25 ciders and perries on offer and upwards of 50 beers on the Foreign Beer bar (although, no draught German beer this year, due to illness. Get well soon, Olaf).

How you'll fit tasting of that lot into three short days is a question to be answered between you, your liver and your annual leave form. What's helpful for your constitution is that the festival offers proper home cooking for sale at lunch and throughout the evening. Forget salt poisoning by scratchings, feed up on Cajun chicken, pork casserole or the veggie options. Don't forget to try the special mushroom, cheese and guest ale pate and Friday is curry day.

The London Drinker Beer and Cider Festival will be held 9-11 March, at the Camden Centre, Bidborough Street, London WC1 (opposite St. Pancras Station). The bars open on Wednesday at midday.

Admission is free Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes, £3.50 (£2.50 members) at other times.
