Tonight: Watch a free screening of the 1947 film version of Brighton Rock at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street W1. Free, all welcome, 6.45pm.

Horniman Museum is open till 9pm tonight for some light hearted scientific debate with Café Sci – Are You Talkin’ to Me? A free session from 7-9pm.

And Kino host an open-mic short film night at Vibe Live at Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. Films start at 8pm. £4 entry, free to film makers.

Friday: After Hours at Natural History Museum provides an opportunity to gaze at world’s largest yellow pear-shaped diamond in the Vault. The museum is open till 10.30pm and admission is free.

The South London Art Map holds its first Last Friday to launch the Art Map at Peckham Space and see over 90 galleries stay open late. Free, 6-9pm.

Saturday: Shunt are all over the ICA all weekend, all free.

Ship in a bottle, 4th Plinth artist, Yinka Shonibare is at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich this Saturday and Sunday between 11am-4pm for lots of free and special boat themed events.

99p Soul spins 'quality sounds for under a pound' at the Betsey Trotwood, Farringdon from 8pm-1am with the London Flickrpool's very own Dusty Sevens on the decks at some point. 99p on the door.

Sunday: Volunteer to help with BCTV's Stanmore Country Park Work Day and cut back the birch and the bramble.

Watch underground short films as part of Coming Up - a free arts festival. Just turn up at Debut in London Bridge, Weston Street, SE1 from 2pm. Have a look at the rest of the programme too. It's all free.

The Roxy pays tribute to Bill Hicks on the 17th anniversary of his death with a screening of American: The Bill Hicks Story and a Q&A with the film maker. 8pm, £4 with all proceeds to the Bill Hicks Wildlife Foundation.

Monday: English National Ballet celebrate their Emerging Dancer award with a day of free activities in the Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall from 10.30am.

Tuesday: “How I use Photoshop” is a free lecture by Alan Gore, hosted by City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society at City YMCA, Barbican.

Wednesday: LSE's Forum on Religion presents a free public lecture "Good life in hard times" at 6.30pm in the Sheik Zayed Theatre. Please reserve your ticket.
