It's always worth keeping an eye on Roxy Bar and Screen's listings. The London Bridge independent cinema are past-masters at programming quirky and inventive evenings. A couple of upcoming treble-bills are cases in point.
On 23 January, the cinema will show all three Twilight films back-to-back. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tomato juice, but a tempting chance to find out what all the fuss is about for anyone who wants to pretend they're still 15. The fang-fest begins at 3pm and stretches on until 10pm.
One week on (30 January), the venue will screen three geeky greats from the 80s; to wit, War Games, Weird Science and the peerless Back to the Future. Again, from 3-10pm.
Astoundingly, that's seven hours' entertainment for just £5 (£3 if you only want to watch one movie). What's more, Roxy is furnished with shabby but comfortable leather arm chairs and sports its own bar, available throughout the films. Anyone want to suggest a Twilight drinking game?
